Shipping & Returns
How firearms purchased from Odell Arms are shipped and transferred, and our return policy on defective items.
How firearms get to you
Federal law requires that firearms ship to a licensed dealer, not to your door. You have two options:
- Pick up at our Mesa shop. Buy from us, schedule an appointment, complete your Form 4473, and take it home the same visit — assuming your background check clears.
- Ship to your local FFL. We’ll ship to any licensed dealer you choose. Have your dealer email a copy of their FFL to sales@odellarms.com. Shipping is $20 plus the cost of shipping. Your dealer will charge their own transfer fee, which is between you and them.
Orders typically ship within 2-3 business days once the item is received and your dealer’s FFL has been verified. We’ll send tracking when it goes out.
NFA items
Suppressors, SBRs, and other NFA items don’t ship until your ATF approval comes through. See the NFA Process page for the full timeline.
Parts and accessories
We’re currently not fulfilling online orders for non-firearm items — parts, optics, knives, and accessories. Our catalog shows what we can source, and pricing is current, but these are order-by-request for now.
Call or text 480-359-4197 or email sales@odellarms.com with what you’re after and we’ll quote it, including availability and shipping.
Returns
All firearm sales are final once the transfer is complete. Once you’ve completed a Form 4473 and taken possession, the firearm is legally yours and federal record-keeping requirements mean we can’t simply take it back as a return.
Defective firearms are handled through the manufacturer’s warranty. Every firearm we sell carries the manufacturer’s warranty, and manufacturers are set up to repair or replace their own products — usually faster and more thoroughly than we could. If something’s wrong with your firearm:
- Call us first at 480-359-4197. Some issues are break-in, ammunition, or setup related, and we may be able to sort it out without shipping anything.
- If it’s a genuine defect, we’ll help you open a warranty claim and get it to the right place.
- We’ll follow up until it’s resolved. We’re not going to hand you a phone number and disappear.
Cancellations
Before transfer: Haven’t picked it up or had it shipped yet? Contact us. Refunds are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Once a firearm has shipped to your FFL, it’s subject to the return policy above.
NFA items: If you cancel before your transfer is complete, a 30% restocking fee applies — higher than our standard rate, since your paperwork has already been filed with the ATF. Once the transfer is complete, the sale is final.
Damaged in transit
If your package arrives damaged, don’t accept it if you can avoid it, and photograph everything before opening. Contact us within 5 days of receiving it and we’ll file the carrier claim and make it right.
